This page explains in plain language what data Qooty collects when you use the site or app, why we collect it, and how you stay in control of it.

1. Who we are
Qooty is an independent platform that tracks and compares supermarket flyers and offers across Saudi Arabia, available at qooty.net and through our mobile apps on Google Play and the App Store. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the platform, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what your rights are.

2. Data we collect
Browsing Qooty does not require an account. We never ask for your name, phone number or address to use the site. The data we do collect is limited, technical, and anonymous:
- Anonymous visitor ID (qooty_vid): a random value generated in your browser and kept for one year, used to distinguish repeat visits without identifying you.
- Session ID (qooty_sid): a random value that expires when you close the browser or after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Anonymous rating ID (qooty_anon_id) and your rating history (qooty_rating:*): used to stop the same offer being rated twice.
- Your selected city (qooty_selected_city): used to show offers from nearby stores. You choose it manually — we do not use GPS geolocation on the web.
- Theme preference (theme): light or dark mode.
- Your wishlist: stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.
- Technical data logged automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, timestamps, and referring source.
3. How we use this data
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it to send you marketing messages without your consent.
- Operating the platform and showing offers relevant to your city.
- Measuring page performance and which offers are most viewed, to improve ranking and content.
- Detecting abusive automated traffic and protecting the service.
- Serving advertising that funds the service and keeps it free to use.
4. Cookies
We use cookies and local storage only for the purposes above: remembering your city and theme, and anonymous traffic measurement. Our advertising partners also set their own cookies, as described in the next section.
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking them may lose preferences such as your selected city, but you will still be able to browse.
5. Advertising and third parties
We display advertising through Google AdSense to fund the service. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or manage third-party vendor preferences at aboutads.info.
We also use Google Analytics to measure traffic in aggregate. This data is not used to identify you personally.
6. Sharing your data
We share data only with service providers who run our technical infrastructure on our behalf (hosting, analytics, advertising), in response to a lawful request from a competent Saudi authority, or to protect our rights and those of our users.
7. Retention and security
We retain anonymous measurement data for no longer than 26 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated so it can no longer be linked to an individual visitor. Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored on protected servers with restricted access.
8. Children's privacy
Qooty is a family shopping platform not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) — and under the GDPR if you are in the European Union — you have the right to access your data, correct it, request its deletion, object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time.

10. Copyright and flyer images
Store names, logos and flyer images are the property of their respective owners. They appear on Qooty for purely informational purposes, to help shoppers see which offers are currently running, and imply no affiliation with or endorsement by those retailers.
If you are a rights holder and believe content we publish exceeds permitted use, email [email protected] with the content, its URL and proof of ownership, and we will remove it within 48 hours of verification.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page, and we recommend reviewing it periodically. Continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept the revised version.
